The Earthwork Contractor will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the subgrade in condition suitable for installation of the Abso-Barrier Geomembrane.
In case where no site-specific earthwork quality control guidelines exist, the following general guidelines shall be followed. Surfaces to be lined shall be smooth and free for debris, roots and angular or sharp rocks. All fill shall consist of well-graded to the Geomembrane. The upper 150mm of the finished subgrade shall not contain stones or debris larger than 13mm. The subgrade shall have no sudden sharp or abrupt changes in grade.
The Earthwork Contractor will protect the subgrade from desiccation, flooding and freezing. |
